Best cheap tablet deals for December 2022 – Warungku Teknologi

Tablets exist in a space between phones and laptops that is becoming increasingly muddled. As phones become more powerful and gain larger displays, laptops continue to get lighter. Tablet manufacturers haven’t been resting on their laurels, though. Many of the more recent tablets we’ve seen are looking to bridge the gap in terms of performance and, in select cases, handle some tasks more efficiently than both phones and laptops.

The tablet spectrum is varied, too. Inexpensive models like the Amazon Fire HD 10 make for excellent media streaming devices, while those in Microsoft’s versatile Surface lineup can easily serve as ad-hoc laptops when paired with an optional folio-style keyboard. Then there’s the ubiquitous iPad, a slate that has become the go-to tablet for anyone searching for something in the Apple ecosystem (and for many outside of it).

Below, we’ve rounded up deals for a number of Android, iPadOS, and Windows tablets. We’ve also broken down the deals by manufacturer to make things easier, and we will continue to update this post as new discounts and sales become available.

Apple tablet deals

The 64GB configuration of Apple’s latest iPad Air typically retails for $599.99 but is still on sale at Best Buy for $499.99. If you need additional storage, the 256GB model is currently available at Best Buy for $649.99 ($100 off).

The latest Air sheds the A14 Bionic processor in favor of Apple’s more powerful M1 CPU, yet it still offers all-day battery life and retains the same design as its predecessor from 2020. In terms of Apple’s current tablet lineup, it sits between the latest iPad Mini and iPad Pro, and comes with a set of surprisingly powerful speakers and a vivid 10.9-inch screen that’s still easy to handle. Read our review.

iPad Air

$500

The latest iPad Air retains the iPad Pro-esque redesign of the 2020 model but does away with the A14 Bionic processor in favor of Apple’s lightning-fast M1 chip. It also comes in five colors and boasts a 12MP front-facing camera with support for Apple’s Center Stage feature.

2021 iPad

Apple’s standard iPad remains a solid, popular tablet that’s suitable for just about anyone. Normally $479, the 256GB model with Wi-Fi is on sale right now at Walmart for just $399, one of its best prices to date. The smaller 64GB model is also available at Best Buy for $269.99 instead of the usual $329.99.

Apple’s last-gen, entry-level iPad features a 10.2-inch, True Tone Retina display, one with a resolution of 2160 x 1620. It’s worth noting, however, that with the release of the most recent iPad Pro and Air models, the base model has become something of an odd duck with an outdated design. At this point, the standard model is the only Apple tablet that still uses a Lightning connection, as opposed to USB-C, and is only compatible with the first-gen Apple Pencil. Perhaps more importantly though, it’s also one of the only tablets in Apple’s current lineup that doesn’t use an M1 series CPU, opting instead for an A13 processor that will be fast enough for most users.

$270

Apple’s entry-level iPad from 2021 has an A13 Bionic chip and a 12MP front camera that supports Apple’s Center Stage feature. It also is compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard and is the only iPad that still has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

$399

Apple’s latest entry-level iPad represents a slight update, with a new A13 Bionic chip and a 12MP front camera that supports Apple’s Center Stage feature.

In many ways, the iPad Pro is the scaled-up version of the most recent iPad Air. The 12.9-inch Pro features Apple’s M1 chip, the same all-aluminum form factor, and the option for 5G connectivity. The 12-inch iPad Pro includes a larger Mini LED display, though, along with a superior camera array, support for Face ID, and a variable refresh rate.

The 12.9-inch, 256GB iPad Pro is currently discounted to $899.99 at Best Buy in the Wi-Fi-only configuration, down from its original of $1,199.99. You can also find the 128GB configuration at Best Buy for $799.99 (normally $1,099.99). Read our review.

The iPad Pro with the Liquid Retina XDR display

$800

Apple’s latest iPad Pro comes with the company’s own M1 processor and Thunderbolt. However, the 12.9-inch model also touts the best display of any tablet available.

2022 11-inch M2 iPad Pro

The M2 iPad Pro is easily the most powerful Apple tablet to date. Currently, you can find the base configuration on sale at B&H Photo for $729 (normally $799). In addition to a more powerful processor, the M2-equipped iPad Pro has access to a vast library of apps optimized for tablets, as well as Wi-Fi 6E support. It’s also compatible with a number of excellent Apple accessories and supports a new hover feature with the second-gen Apple Pencil, which will immediately wake the device when you assume the scribbling position. However, it’s important to note that the 11-inch model lacks the Mini LED screen present on the 12.9-inch model, making it slightly less attractive but still the go-to choice for top-shelf tablet performance. Read our 12.9-inch iPad Pro review.

$729

The 2022 iPad Pro touts a faster M2 processor, a new hover feature with the second-gen Apple Pencil, and support for Wi-Fi 6E. However, its design remains unchanged from the 2021 model.

Apple’s newest iPad is currently on sale in the 64GB Wi-Fi configuration for $399 at Best Buy and B&H Photo, knocking $50 off the usual price. The latest model lacks a headphone jack and features a less impressive display than the iPad Pro and iPad Air, but it does pack a larger screen than before as well as USB-C charging. It also offers reliable battery life and still sports solid performance thanks to its A14 Bionic CPU, making it a step up from the cheapest model and a good entry-level choice if you can find it on sale. Read our review.

A 10th-gen iPad in an Apple Smart Folio on a wood table.

$399

Apple’s 10th-gen iPad is the spiritual successor to the older ninth-gen model. Though, in exchange for its revised design, landscape-oriented webcam, USB-C port, larger 10.9-inch screen, and faster processor, it ditched the headphone jack and got more expensive.

Apple’s latest, 64GB iPad Mini with Wi-Fi usually sells for $499.99 but is currently on sale at Target for $399.99 — the miniature tablet’s best price yet. This model brings a number of welcome changes to the hardware, including a larger display that lacks the home button and USB-C port instead of Apple’s Lightning connector.

The tablet’s 8.3-inch display features a resolution of 2266 x 1488 and support for Apple’s True Tone technology, which allows you to fine-tune the display based on the lighting in your environment. The Mini also features back- and front-facing 12MP cameras and can capture 4K video at 60 frames per second. All this is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic CPU, which makes the latest Mini is the one to beat until the inevitable arrival of an M1 or M2 model.

Keep in mind, however, that this version of the iPad Mini lacks a 3.5mm audio jack and won’t work with Apple’s Smart Keyboard or Magic Keyboard Folio, even if it is compatible with the second-gen Apple Pencil. It does, however, work with a number of third-party Bluetooth keyboards if you need a larger typing surface. Read our review.

Photo of the 2021 iPad mini with attached second-generation Apple Pencil on blue background

$400

Apple’s revamped iPad Mini ditches the home button and opts for a larger edge-to-edge display. It also comes outfitted with a faster processor, support for USB-C, and a top-mounted power button that moonlights as a Touch ID sensor.

Amazon tablet deals

Both the Fire HD 10 and 10 Plus are currently on sale at Amazon and Best Buy. The 32GB configuration of the 10-inch tablet is on sale at Amazon for $89.99 instead of $149.99 in its ad-supported form, while the ad-free model is discounted to $104.99, down from its usual price of $164.99. You can also find the Plus model on sale at Amazon and Best Buy, where you can pick up the ad-supported model for $119.99 (normally $179.99) and the ad-free model for $134.99 (normally $194.99).

In addition to boasting a larger screen than the HD 8, the latest Fire HD 10 touts 1920 x 1080 resolution — as opposed to 800 x 1280 resolution — along with triple the amount of RAM. The 10-inch Plus model includes these improvements as well but also features support for wireless charging, a soft-touch finish, and an additional gigabyte of RAM that allows for slightly better performance. Read our review.

$90

The 2021 Fire HD 10 is the largest of Amazon’s Fire tablets. Unlike the previous generation, it sports a 1080p display and 3GB of RAM, which is plenty if you’re streaming, browsing, or consuming Amazon content.

$120

The Plus model of the 10-inch Kindle Fire tablet offers many of the same features as the standard model but is equipped with 4GB of RAM, making it slightly more capable than its less expensive counterpart.

Lenovo tablet deals

Lenovo Tab P11 Plus

The 11-inch Lenovo Tab P11 Plus normally starts at $249.99 but is currently discounted at Lenovo to $194.99. This model comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage out of the box, however, thanks to its microSD card slot, you can upgrade it post-purchase. The low-end Android tablet also has a display resolution of 2000 x 1200 and features an 8MP front-facing camera for video chatting, as well as a 13MP rear camera for taking photos. While the P11 Plus is compatible with an optional keyboard dock, the tablet’s MediaTek Helio G90T processor and limited RAM prevent it from performing much heavy lifting, rendering it more suitable for light browsing and media consumption.

$195

This 11-inch tablet from Lenovo features a 128GB storage capacity and 4GB of RAM. The P11 Plus uses the Android 10 OS and has a screen resolution of 2000 x 1200.

Lenovo M10 Plus (3rd gen)

The third-generation Lenovo M10 Plus is discounted at Walmart, lowering the $229.99 tablet to $129.99. The 10.6-inch tablet features a 2000 x 1000p display, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor with 4GB of DDR4 RAM. The M10 Plus has 128GB of storage out of the box, but is compatible with microSD cards if you need additional space. Similar specs can be found on the 2021 model of the Fire HD 10 tablet, which costs roughly the same price, but has less storage and a screen that doesn’t look quite as good. The M10 Plus isn’t the fastest or most capable tablet on the market but remains a solid choice for a 10-inch tablet at this price point. The M10 Plus is still due to receive the Android 13 OS later in 2023.

$130

The Lenovo M10 Plus lacks the RAM or processing power to get much heavy lifting done for a tablet but is a solid choice for Android users on the hunt for a budget-friendly 10-inch tablet that isn’t made by Amazon.

Microsoft tablet deals

If you don’t mind a limited port selection and are in need of a tablet that offers plenty of performance in a lightweight chassis, Microsoft’s high-powered Surface Pro 8 might fit the bill. The attractive, modern slate feature a 13-inch touchscreen, along with 2880 x 1920 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate — a rarity outside of the gaming sphere. It’s also a great teleconferencing device thanks to its far-field studio microphones and 5MP front-facing camera. Best of all, it serves as a competent stand-in laptop when using the integrated kickstand and the optional keyboard cover.

Right now, a 512GB configuration of the Surface Pro 8 is on sale at Microsoft for $899.99, saving you a cool $500 on the regular MSRP of $1,399.99. This particular model comes with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. If you need extra room, you can always expand the storage of this tablet down the line with microSD cards. You can also find a 128GB configuration at Best Buy bundled with a keyboard discounted to $999.99, and a 512GB model is available at Amazon for $1,599.99 (normally $1,899.99). Read our review.

$900

The Surface Pro 8 is Microsoft’s biggest upgrade in years. The excellent 2-in-1 touts Thunderbolt 4 support, a 120Hz display, a better camera, and a more modern design. This package is bundled with a black keycover.

Samsung tablet deals

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, S8 Plus, and S8 Ultra

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 series just launched earlier this year, but you can already find notable deals on the standard Tab S8 in the 128GB, Wi-Fi configuration, which is currently on sale at Best Buy for $529.99 (around $150 off). The rose gold colorway of the S8 Plus is also discounted at Samsung and Best Buy to $749.99 (normally $899.99). You can also find the 256GB S8 Ultra on sale at Best Buy and Samsung for $849.99 (normally $1,199.99).

While there are some clear upgrades across the S8 line, there are a number of similarities as well. They all use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, feature quad-speaker arrays, run on Android 12, and come packaged with a Samsung S Pen stylus. Each model also supports Wi-Fi 6E and comes equipped with a minimum of 8GB of RAM, but the S8 Ultra is available in 12GB and 16GB configurations as well. The S8 and S8 Plus essentially serve as direct replacements for their Tab S7 predecessors, while the S8 Ultra is a more feature-packed model with support for 5G connectivity and a 14.6-inch OLED display that touts a 120Hz refresh rate and 2960 x 1848 resolution.

In our Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 Plus review, we noted how much we enjoyed both displays and the performance provided by the upgraded CPU. Both models are also slim and lightweight, lending them exceptional portability. However, while both play well with other devices in the Samsung ecosystem, many Android apps still struggle due to poor optimization.

The S8 Ultra, on the other hand, impressed us with its mammoth OLED display and snappy performance. Despite its attempts to bring iPad-level productivity to an Android tablet, however, neither the OS nor the optional keyboard case is really up to the task.

$530

The standard model of the Galaxy Tab S8 features an 11-inch LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution. The base model also has 8GB of RAM and can be configured to include either 128GB or 256GB of storage out of the box.

$750

The S8 Plus has the same RAM, storage, and CPU as the standard S8 but features a larger 12.4-inch OLED display with 2800 x 1752 resolution.

$850

The premium model in the S8 lineup, the S8 Ultra features many of the same specs as its cheaper siblings. In addition to having configurations that can feature up to 512GB of storage, however, the Ultra can also be upgraded with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. It also has a larger, 14.6-inch OLED display with 2960 x 1848 resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

If you’re in the market for a barebones entertainment device — whether for yourself or your kids — the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a tablet to consider, one that essentially functions as a smaller and less powerful version of the standard A7. Unlike the A7, however, the Lite is currently available on Amazon and Walmart for a mere $109 instead of its typical list price of $159.99. The 8.7-inch display offers just 1340 x 800 resolution, though the base model also comes equipped with 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, just like the larger model. While it is less powerful, it’s also difficult to find a tablet with these specs that’s available at this price point.

$109

The standard model of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a smaller, more affordable version of the Tab A7 that features an 8.7-inch display and 1340 x 800 resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

The Galaxy Tab A8 is a solid, budget-conscious Android tablet that’s currently available for its lowest price ever at Walmart. Normally $199.99, the Tab A8 is on sale for $149.99 at Walmart and B&H Photo. The 10.5-inch tablet features a 1200 x 1080p display and a battery that’s capable of supporting up to 9 hours of video streaming, which pairs perfectly with the robust sound quality provided by its speakers. The build quality of the 32GB tablet is also excellent, and it’s compatible with microSD storage if you need a little extra space for apps.

Unless the tablet you’re shopping for needs to double as a workstation or have an excellent camera, the Tab A8 handles the basics at a very approachable price. The A8 is powered by an eight-core CPU which isn’t particularly well suited for heavy lifting, but it works well for consuming media and entertainment, rendering the tablet more suitable for play than work.

$150

The Tab A8 is a 10.5-inch tablet that you can use to stream your favorite shows and movies with Dolby Atmos speakers.
