Converting damp hair into dry, straight hair in one fell swoop is now possible with this compact, lightweight, and powerful hair dryer. Over 11.9 litres of air are propelled through the machine each second by a 13-blade impeller that spins up to 106,000 rpm. As the hair dries, the pressure it creates—up to 3.5 kPa—is sufficient to straighten it. The motor is 27 mm in diameter, which is just right for the handle, and it doesn’t skimp on power either.

The Dyson Airstrait™ straightener, like all of Dyson’s hair care products, has an advanced heat management system. Protect your hair from heat damage and maintain its natural shine with glass bead thermistors. They measure the airflow temperature up to 16 times per second. The information is transmitted to the microprocessor, which controls the heating element to maintain the proper airflow temperature.

In addition to a “Cool” setting, the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener features “Wet” and “Dry” modes for different styles. The optimal balance of heat and airflow is pre-set for both the “Wet” and “Dry” modes. When switching from wet to dry mode, you can select one of three heat settings: 80°C, 110°C, or 140°C. Select 120°C, 140°C or a “boost” to add more heat when in “Dry” mode.
